The fundamental purpose of the symposium is the exchange of ideas and dialogue. We want to encourage participation. Sometimes the preparation of formal, peer-reviewed papers is off-putting to potential participants who have good ideas for sharing. Therefore we do not wish to discourage potential participation by requiring only formal peer-reviewed papers. Rather, we would like to also encourage raw thoughts, ideas, accounts of practices and criticisms, both positive and negative. We would also very much like to capture students’ views and would encourage tutors to foster interest amongst their students.
The format of this symposium will be in four strands as illustrated below. For this symposium, the basis for discussion and presentations will be the abstracts. In all four strands, abstracts should be submitted and the programme will be prepared on the basis of abstracts. It is intended that the abstracts will be published on this web-site in advance of the symposium.
